    In 1329, the Teutonic Knights bought the lands of Bytów. The Bytów castle was started in the late 14th century and completed in 1405. The tetragon-shaped castle is surrounded by the castle walls with three round towers and one tetragonal tower in its corners and a monastery at the northern side.     In the Szymbark museum, there is the longest wooden board in the world, with the previous world record of 34.07 m, which had been set and held by the Austrians in 1996. The Kashubians from Szymbark broke the record on 12 June 2002.

    Now, the record-breaking board has been transformed into a table at which 220 people can sit at the same time. The table was named "The Nobelist Table" in honor of Lech Wałęsa, the former Polish president and the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

    One of the attractions of the Center of Education and Regional Promotion besides the long wood is the Upside Down House. This is a symbol of the modern world – full of discrepancies and dangers created by people. Even a short visit to this house causes disturbances to the orientation senses.

    Being the first ostrich farm in Poland build in 1993, it presents the African ostrich. Just a few facts about these flightless birds; An ostrich can live for 60 to 70 years, and it is fecund for about 40 years of its life, ; a female ostrich lays eggs every 2 days. An adult ostrich weighs 100-150 kg and is 2 to 2.8 m high. Ostriches are herbivorous which can run at speeds of up to 60 km/h and despite of its African origins, the ostrich can withstand temperatures down to -40’C.

A sanctuary covering 26.47 ha surrounds the hills, it is covered by a 150-year year-old beech wood, spruce and pine trees that were planted among the beech wood. At the very top of the hill, there is a viewing tower from which the vicinity can be seen. The nature of the Wieżyca peak is characterized by its scenery values, especially the beautiful surrounding landscape.
